Hummus is a middle eastern traditional dish that is made with chickpeas and tahini which is a smooth creamy paste made of crushed sesame seeds. It is a popular dish often eaten with bread but can be eaten with a variety of foods.
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- ¼ cup or 4 tbsp of Tahini
- 1 tbsp of lemon juice
- 2 cloves of garlic
- ½ tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of spice of choice (optional)
- 1 tsp of paprika (optional)
- Parsley (optional)
Procedure
- Boil the chickpeas for 10-15 minutes and rinse off the chickpeas skin.
- In a blender, add all the ingredients listed except parsley and paprika.
- Blend all ingredients for 2 minutes until smooth like mashed patotoes.
- Finally, serve and garnish with paprika, parsley and olive oil.
