Vanilla ice cream, like other flavors, was originally a mixture made of cream, sugar, and vanilla above a container of ice and salt. Vanilla used to flavor ice cream is unique by each location; In North America and Europe, consumers are interested in a more prominent, smoky flavor, while in Ireland, a more anise-like flavor is desired. However, many people often consider vanilla to be the default flavor of ice cream. Vanilla ice cream could be served or paired along side other flavors like chocolate, bubble gum mint, cotton candy among others. Vanilla ice cream could be served with various toppings like chopped or whole nuts (hazel nut, almonds e.t.c), chocolate chips, Oreos crumbs, fruits(strawberry, raspberries, blueberries), sauces (caramel sauce, butterscotch toffee sauce, chocolate sauce and their likes). Vanilla ice cream could be served in paper cups with or without dome lids, glass dessert cups and wafer cones.
