Money bags is one of many varieties of small chops or finger foods as they are called. They are usually served at occasions often times prior to the main course as appetizers. Money bags are basically made of seasoned shredded beef, chicken or prawns and veggies like carrots, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and even green beans. They are served as they are or accompanied with cold drinks, mocktails or cocktails.

Ingredients

  • Chicken or beef
  • seasoning cubes
  • curry
  • thyme
  • paprika
  • rosemary
  • spring onions
  • carrots (shredded)
  • green pepper (finelychopped)
  • onions (shredded)
  • white pepper
  • onion powder
  • scotch bonnet pepper or chili sauce
  • small chops wraps
  • vegetable oil or olive oil
  • sesame oil
  • tooth pick

Procedure

To make this super easy tasty and juicy money bags, simply follow the step-by-step guide below;

  • In a pot, add chicken (preferably chicken breast part) or beef, seasoning cubes, thyme and part of chopped onions, water and cook until soft.
  • Afterwards, shred cooked beef or chicken and set aside.
  • In your a frying pan (preferably a non-stick pan), add oil and sesame oil, another part of chopped onions, rosemary and fry until fragrant. Add shredded chicken or beef, and seasoning of choice, grated scotch bonnet pepper or chili sauce ( I prefer fresh pepper), paprika, curry, onion powder, white pepper, carrots and fry on medium heat stiring occasionally for some minutes.
  • Next you add your green pepper and spring onions from , stir for a while , turn off the heat and allow to cool.
  • Cut the greenish lengthy part of your spring onions into thinner strips.
  • Add filling into the small chop wraps fold onto a sack like form, tie the spring onions around the wraps to secure the filing and insert your toothpick from one end of the tied spring onions to the other, that way your money bag filling will stay intact and not get scattered while frying,
  • Next, deep moneybags into hot oil for frying. Use a deep fryer to achieve an evenly cooked and golden browned money bag and prevent the money bag from having cracks from frequently turning while frying.
  • Drain the money bags to remove excess oil, allow to cool and serve with a chilled virgin Pina colada or juice of choice.
