Italian meatballs are also known as Polpette in Italy. Meatballs are basically spherical portions of ground meat mixed with spices, breadcrumbs, eggs, cheese, milk and green herbs like parsley and cooked by simmering, steaming, searing, frying and baking. While Italian meatballs are a staple of Italian-American cuisines, they are actually a culinary concept with roots tracing back to ancient Persia.
Ingredients
- beef 1 pound
- 2 tbsp parsley (chopped)
- 1 large egg(beaten)
- fresh onion(chopped) or onion powder
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tsp fresh garlic (minced) or garlic powder
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (fresh and grated)
- seasoning to taste
- salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Procedure
To make this delicious Italian meatball, follow the simple steps below;
Ina large bowl, combine the meat and seasoning, mix well and mince.

Transfer minced beef, add egg, cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, parsley, black pepper and mix until properly incorporated.

Next, use an ice-cream scoop, cookie scoop, spoon or even your hand to scoop from the mixed ground beef to form the meatballs ( using a scoop will be better to achieve a uniform size and weight)

Fry under low-medium heat for a total of 20-25 minutes turning the balls after the first 10 to 12 minutes to prevent burning and achieve even cooking.

Enjoy!
