Vanilla cake refers to cakes that have a vanilla, just as the name might suggest. It is more of a catch-all phrase and can actually include white cakes under its umbrella. Vanilla is an amazing spice used in making deserts. Originally, it grew around the Gulf of Mexico in Central America. It was domesticated first by the Totonac and Olmec nations as they cultivated vanilla for food but also for fragrances in temples and good-luck charms. This classic vanilla cake is flavorful and has a tender and moist crumb. It is so light, fluffy and easy to make that you will never go back to box mix.
