How to make chocolate delight truffle

Chocolate delight truffle got its start in France in 1895. Pastry chef Louis Dufour combined chocolate and cream in very specific ratios to create the delicious creamy center called ganache into balls and dusted them with cocoa powder. The shape of the final product reminded people of the mushrooms that grow underground and the name ”truffle” stuck. Chocolate delight truffles are basically made with biscuits and or chocolate cookies, butter, condensed milk and cocoa powder ,desiccated coconuts are really just optional for rolling.

Ingredients 

  • 20 digestive biscuits or chocolate cookies 
  • 125g butter 
  • 200g condensed milk 
  • 2tbsp cocoa powder 
  • 125 desiccated coconut for rolling 

Procedure 

  • Put the digestive biscuits in a plastic bag and roll and crush to crumbs. 
  • Put the butter and condensed milk on a pan over low heat until the butter melts. 
  • Allow to cool slightly. 
  • Add the cocoa powder, biscuits and desiccated coconut to the melted butter mixture. 
  • The mixture should be of a doughy consistency not to dry and not too wet. 
  • Form the mixture in truffles and roll in desiccated coconut.
